Programme Group
From the very beginning, Gessnerallee has been keen to create a polyphonic program in which different perspectives, aesthetics, and curatorial guiding principles are visible. Therefore, since August 2021, instead of a few full-time positions, the group of program directors is composed of several part-time positions as well as three additional people with a small annual workload. The fixed part of the program group consists of Joshua Wicke (Curator Performance, Dance, Theater), and Paula Thomaka (Curator Performance, Dance, Theater). They are complemented by three co-curators Catalina Insignares, Lhaga Koondhor and Pankaj Tiwari, who partly from Zurich, partly from outside, like satellites, influence and help shape the program of the Gessnerallee.
All members of the program group have a specific focus as well as their own areas of responsibility. In their respective areas, they are the contact persons for the artists and communities with whom we work in these areas. However, decisions are rarely made alone, but almost always in collective processes, in different constellations within the program group.
