Life, death, evolution, consolation, return, resistance and reproduction: all these essential elements of life are connected by embedded rituals in society and culture. Rituals are used as a physical and psychological means of dealing with the unpredictability of the natural, social and cosmic spheres of life and reconciling them with the values of society. Some rituals are symbolic, are meant to happen once in a lifetime and serve as an idea of representation. Some take place repeatedly, hidden, but they connect us all daily. With the mirroring installation, Istifan and Cenaj deal with the projection in connection with representation and pride, before the second part of Istifan is realized in December with the theme "Ritual".
The installation So proud of her firstborn, I can tell by Shamiran Istifan and Pashk Cenaj can be viewed in the anteroom of the toilets in the Nordflügel. It will be on view throughout Cycle 1 (17.9.-04.10.2020) during the opening hours of Stall 6.
